Munich Germany is a much recommended travel city for anyone who is thinking about a holiday filled with scenery, landmarks, and attractions. Munich offers several attractions for visitors. Located just north of the Bavarian Alps on the River Isar, Munich is truly a marvelous sight - both naturally and architecturally. In fact, it appears that no matter where you turn in the city, there's something truly wonderful to see. Munich was home to the 1972 Olympic Games and the Olympic Park that was built for this event is still in use today and has some type of activity taking place there on more than 200 days out of the year. Travelers can also check out the Nymphenburg Palace which was the summer home for rulers of Bavaria. And today, Nymphenburg is open for visitors, but also continues to be a residence and chancery for the head of the house of Wittelsbach, currently Franz, Duke of Bavaria. The museums and art galleries that the city boasts make up for the occasional lack of beauty within the streets of Munich. One of the largest and oldest science museums in the world is located on an Island in the Isar and it's very possible to go visit the Deutsches museum. If you're an art lover the largest art museum in Germany, The Alte Pinakothek art Museum is located in Munich as well. In Munich also resides the BMW museum which is a must see if you're passionate about cars. I thoroughly enjoyed the BMW museum.
Munich also celebrates Ballet Week and the Munich Opera Festival. The Munich Ballet Week is a week long festival comprised of the Bavarian State Ballet where international ballet stars perform and dance as a way to celebrate this long time tradition. One of the most important musical events in Germany is the Munich Opera Festival and it has been held every summer since 1876. The Munich Opera Festival is respected throughout the world and includes many top notch performers from all around the globe. Munich Germany offers so many different events and activities you can partake in that it's hard to not see how great of a vacation destination it would be. You have a number of choices regarding art, music and dance; these are just some of the reasons to come visit Munich. Despite all the history you can feel when in Munich, you have other ways you can take some of Munich home with you from experiences or goods by going to high class hotels, fine restaurants and purchasing German made souvenirs and memorabilia from German shops. Munich offers something for people of all ages and is a wonderful city for a family vacation. If you're contemplating a holiday to Munich, you'll find plenty of Munich cheap hotels found near the city's top attractions. And if you're considering attending this year's Oktoberfest, it's always best to book your Munich room early.
